On Saturday evening last, between the hours of eight and nine o'clock, on the road leading from Derry to Letterkenny, and about three and a half miles from this City, a dreadful catastrophy befel James Hatrick, a sober, well conducted man, who lived in Creggan. He was driving his wife home, from the market in Derry, when the cart overturned on a rock, both precipitated on him. He lived only a few hours afterward, he leaves a wife and a young child to mourn his loss.

On Friday, Minchin Lloyd, Esq., Coroner, held an inquest at Upper Cumber, on the body of a young man, named David Hopkins. The deceased who is a son of Mr. John Hopkins, Longash, was in the company of several others on the Dungiven Road on carts. He was

missed at Alla, and when found was lying on the ground a short distance from his horse and cart. William Allison, Esq., M.D., in evidence stated that in his opinion, the fall from the cart had fractured his skull thereby causing his death. The Jury found in accordance with the evidence a verdict of accidental death.
