Memorial Galbraith to O'Hara dated 16th and 17th May 1715. [Deed Book 19, page 347, deed #10326; transcription by www.clangalbraith.org

A Memorial of deeds of lease and release, bearing date respectively the 16th and 17th days of May 1715, made between James Galbraith of Riverstown, in the County of Meath, Gent. Eldest son and heir of Robert Galbraith, late of Cloncorrick, in the County of Leitrim, Esq; deceased, and Mary Galbraith, the widow and relict of the said Robert Arthur Galbraith, of the City of Dublin, Esq; and John Farris of Mackin in the County of Cavan, tanner, surviving executors of the last will and testament of the said Robert Galbraith, of the one part, and Cormach O'Hara of Drumully, in the County of Cavan, Gent. of the other part, reciting, 
That Sir Henry Titchburne, by the name of Sir Henry Titchburne, Knt. of the manor of Blessingburn, in the County of Tyrone, did, by deed dated the 13th of November 1657, in consideration of four score pounds Sterling to him, the said Henry, paid by Alexander McAusland and Jane McAusland alias Hall, his wife, grant, bargain, and sell unto the said Alexander and Jane, and the longer liver of them in fee-farm for ever, the lands of Ballyvaden, a parcel of ground mearing upon the west side of the said town of Ballyvaden, on the south side of the highway going through Blessingburn, reaching on the north to the said highway and on the south to the common bogg of Blessingburn where the people cut their turf, and on the west to two acres of ground, some time possessed by Patrick Mitchell, and also one tenement, or house in the said town of Blessingburn, with the stable and …………. back-sides thereunto belonging, framed and built by the said Patrick Mitchell, mearing and bounding with the plot of ground aforesaid, together with all the rights, members, and appurtenances to the said premises belonging, at the rent of thirteen shillings and fourpence, payable half yearly at May and All Saints; that the said Alexander soon after died, and Jane survived him, who, by survivorship, became seised of the premises; and by deed, dated the 13th September 1676, did for, and in consideration of £130 by John Galbraith, late of Blessingburn, in his lifetime, to her said husband Alexander McAusland, in his lifetime paid, convey the premises aforesaid unto James Gladstanes and James Moore, executors of the last will and testament of the said John Galbraith, and for, and on the behalf of the said Arthur Galbraith, second son of the said John Galbraith, and for his share of his said father's effects and assetts; to have and to hold the same unto the said Gladstanes and Moore, on behalf of the said Arthur, at the aforesaid rent of thirteen shillings and fourpence; by virtue whereof, the said Arthur became seised, and by deed dated the 18th of October 1687, in consideration of £120 paid and secured, to be paid, one black horse and nine pounds in money, convey and grant the premises aforesaid, unto his brother Robert Galbraith, to have and to hold to him and his heirs for ever : That the said Robert, by deeds, dated the 19th and 20th of October 1687, did grant and sell the premises aforesaid, unto James Gladstanes of Fordross, in the County of Tyrone, Gent. for the sum of £200 to him paid, and his heirs fore ever, subject to a condition of redemption, on payment of the said sum of £200 and interest; that the said James Gladstanes made his will, whereby he appointed his wife Anne, executrix, and soon after died : That Robert Galbraith also died; and by his will, made in the year 1680 [error, Prerogative Court - will made 18 May 1708 proved 6 January 1712], appointed his wife Mary Galbraith, Arthur Galbraith, John Faris, and Charles King, since deceased, his executors; and, by his said will, directed his whole real estate to be sold to pay his debts, and appointed his eldest son James to join in conveying the same : That the said Mary Galbraith, Arthur Galbraith, and John Faris agreed to convey the premises aforesaid to the said Cormach O'Hara and the equity of redemtion of the same; and the said Cormach having paid £400 in discharge of the said £200 and interest to the said Anne Gladstanes executrix, and James Gladstanes, eldest son and heir of the said James Gladstanes, they, in consideration thereof, assigned their interest to the said Cormach and the said James Galbraith, Mary Galbraith, Arthur Galbraith, and John Faris, for £150 to them, and the said £400 to Anne and James Gladstanes, paid by their directions, did grant and convey the premises aforesaid to the said Cormach O'Hara, to have and to hold to him and to his heirs for ever, at the rent of thirteen shillings and fourpence, as aforesaid; which said deed, is witnessed by Henry O'Hara of Drumully, in the County of Cavan, surgeon, Hugh Galbraith of Riverstown, in the County of Meath, Gent. and John Williams of the city of Dublin, Gent.

This memorial was signed by the abovenamed John Faris, in presence of us Ch. Sevill, Jn Williams. The above named John Williams came this day before me, and made oath that he saw the above mentioned James Galbraith, Mary Galbraith, Arthur Galbraith, and John Faris, duly execute the above mentioned deeds of lease and release, whereof the above writing is a memorial; and that he also saw the said John Faris duly sign and seal the above memorial; and that the name John Williams, subscribed as a witness to the said deeds and memorial, is this deponent's own proper hand writing. And further deposeth, That the said memorial was delivered to Mr Bruen Worthington, dep. reg. at six of the clock in the afternoon on Tuesday the 17th day of this inst. May 1715.
