SIXMILECROSS PETTY SESSIONS – Tuesday

The monthly petty sessions of this district was held today at 10 o’clock, a.m.

Magistrates present – RICHARD C. BRUSH, ESQ., and CAPTAIN DEANE MANN.

CONSTABLE THOMAS HENRY, Beragh v. FRANCIS J. HOUSTON, of Ballyhallaghan, for having a dog in his possession not licensed. He was fined 3s. and 1s. costs and ordered to take out license.

SUB-CONSTABLE EDWARD GRANT, Beragh v. JOHN JOHNSTON, of Donaghanie, for same offence was fined 3s. and 1s. costs, and ordered to take out license.

SUB-CONSTABLE MICHAEL FALLS, Beragh v. JOHN BEARNS, of Roscavy, for cattle wandering on the public road, was fined 1s. and 1s. costs, this being the first offence of that kind.

SUB-CONSTABLE JOHN McGEE, of Beragh, v. JOHN HEALEY, of Beragh, for turning loose a horse on the public street, was fined 2s. 6d., and 1s. costs.

CATHERINE COYLE, of Dunmore, v. JOHN TIERNEY, of Foremass Lower, for trespass of sheep and cattle on potatoes and oats. This case was left to the arbitration of JAMES McCRORY and FRANCIS McDERMOTT.
