On Saturday, the 4th inst., James Davis of Tamlaghtard, parish of Magilligan, hung himself in a stable, he had been unwell for sometime. On the previous Thursday he had gone into

Newtownlimavady and had lifted £20, with the intention of going to an asylum in Glasgow for treatment. An inquest was held on Monday, the 6th inst., before William Lane, Esq., M.D., and a jury of neighbours, a verdict was returned in accordance with the facts. He was 49 years of age, and unmarried.

An inquest into the death by drowning of Patrick Devlin, was held at Moneymore, and the verdict was reached, that Patrick Devlin had been found drowned in the mill race of Moneymore, on Wednesday, the 7th February, 1866, and the verdict was the injuries he received were inflicted by accident through drunkenness, or by person or persons unknown.

On Saturday last, Dr. Lane, of Newtownlimavady held an inquest in Londonderry, on the body of George Dicker, a private soldier of the 3rd Buffs, stationed at Ebrington Barracks. On Monday evening the 8th inst., the deceased was drowned whilst bathing in the River

Foyle, his body was not recovered until Friday. A verdict of accidental drowning was returned.

On the 31st ult., in his 88th year, John Dickey, Esq., of Cullybackey. His ancestors were from Ayrshire, John Dicke or Dickie, married a daughter of Hyndman of Myroe, county Derry, a sister of Captain Hyndman, officer of the guard, who fired the first shot on the Earl of Antrims Regiment, December 1688, on the closing of the gates of Derry. This John Dickie, was considered too old to fight at the seige, but his house at Ballymulley, near the Roe Water, was burned by the retreating army of James.

An inquest was held yesterday, before Minchin Lloyd, Esq., Coroner, on the body of Thomas Divine of Alla, Upper Cumber where he resided with an only sister. The deceased in the company of another man was returning from this City to Claudy on Saturday night, when they were overtaken by the storm. They turned from their direct route and proceed along a road at Kilcatton, through a moor. His companion reached a lonely cottage and found shelter for the night, however Divine's dead body was found in the snow the next day a few yards from the public house of Mr. John McCloskey. A verdict was returned in accordance with the facts.

An inquest was held yesterday, Monday, before Mr. M. Lloyd, coroner, on the body of James Donaghey, who died suddenly. It appeared that deceased was at work on Saturday, but had to be assisted home at eight o'clock, and died about ten minutes after entering his house. Medical assistance was procured, but life was extinct. The medical evidence at the inquest was that deceased died from a rupture of one of the blood vessels of the heart, and a verdict was returned accordingly.

An inquest held at Slaughtmanus, Lower Cumber, yesterday, by Minchin Lloyd, Esq., Coroner, on the body of Elizabeth Donaghey, aged about 18 years. The deceased, on Tuesday, went to meet her mother who had crossed the Burntollet River earlier in the day

to transact some business, and whilst recrossing the river fell into a hole and was drowned. Her mother had also fallen into the river and remained insensible for some time after. Dr. Allison testified, that the body had been in the water for some 4 hours, and that he had found no injuries on the body, and expressed the belief that the deceased's death was the result of drowning. The Jury returned the verdict of accidental drowning.

On Tuesday last, at the house of Mr. Ward, Prehen, aged 40 years, the Rev. Edward Dougherty, formerly Parish Priest of Glendermot, and for several years one of Dr. McLaughlin's Curates here. He possessed those dispositions and social qualities which never fail to beget good will, and his demise is lamented by an extensive circle of friends.

At Londonderry, on the 21st inst., Lieutenant Colonel Downing, late of the 81st Regiment, aged 68 years, on his way from Broagh, in the neighbourhood of Bellaghy, to his residence at Townsend Lodge, Buncrana, county Donegal. Colonel Adam Jefferd Downing entered the army at he age of 16 years, and was engaged in battle with the enemies of his country in every quarter of the globe. A large part of the front of his skull was carried away by a musket shot at the battle of Corunna, where he fought under the command of the late General Sir John Moore.

Captain Drake of the 92nd Highlanders and Henry Lipsett of Londonderry were drowned in the River Foyle on Tuesday last. They had been out sailing and when turning the sand bank at Coolnarget the boat partly capsised and was filled with water. Both men jumped into the water and sank. When they rose they tried to swim ashore but a wave struck them, and both went down together and were presumably washed out to sea. Captain Drake was

young, unmarried and heir to a large property. Mr. Lipsett was a young man who was married upwards of a year to a daughter of the late Captain McIntire of this City, by whom he had one child. Yesterday evening the body of Captain Drake was discovered by

some persons who brought it to shore and the had it conveyed to the barracks.
